Brethren, Our lodge stated meeting is Monday night. We will open a lodge of tribute before dinner and then on the 3rd degree for the stated to conduct balloting. Then we will go down to the 1st or 2nd to conduct the rest of the business. Dinner will be at 6:30, by the Jobies, with stated at 7:30. We have 3 to ballot on and 2 new partitions to read. Please make an effort to come to Lodge, if not for dinner at least for the meeting. We need all the help we can get. We are busy in YOUR lodge and hope to see you there. The lodge had a wonderful installation with the Red room full; we had to put out extra chairs. If you are not attending lodge now come back and be a part of this great brotherhood and this lodge. See you Monday night.
Fraternally,
Dwight Butlin WM

Our Lodge is working to become more involved in the community. One method under discussion is to recognize excellence in teaching by giving awards to outstanding educators. Another would be to acknowledge good students with scholarships. Both endeavors will involve raising funds to accomplish these goals. We need to do the fund raising outside the Masonic family through solicitation of business and/or individuals who would like to be part of the program. The major stumbling block to success is the current tax status of our Masonic family - we are not a 501(c3) organization. Those interested in contributing would not be able to claim a charitable donation without that tax designation and this makes any type of outside fund raising extremely difficult. It is my understanding that the Grand Lodge of Idaho is working toward changing the tax status to allow for solicitation for outside funds. I hope to be able to report on their success in the very near future.
